Being the best that we can be

Ofsted May 18:
  • King’s Farm Primary School is a Good School.
  • An impressive number of pupils take part in extra-curricular clubs before or after school.
  • Parents are overwhelmingly supportive of the school.
  • The curriculum captures pupils’ imagination and they are eager to find out more.
  • In 2017 the school’s results at the expected standard for combined reading, writing and mathematics were the most improved in Kent.
  • Children in the early years make good progress from their starting points.

Absences

All absences must be explained by a note or telephone call from home.  This is clearly a safeguard against truancy.  It is helpful if a message is received at school on the first day of absence.  However we do operate a ‘First Day Calling’ policy whereby a member of staff will send you a text message to find out the reason for  the absence.  The school works closely with the Education Welfare Officer and recommended procedures will be followed where necessary.

Request for Leave of Absence in Term Time:

Time off school for family holidays is not a right.  From September 2013 it is our policy that we will not be authorising any leave other than for medical or exceptional circumstances.

The school follows the attendance guidelines as outlined in our Attendance Policy.  A copy of the Attendance Policy is available on request.
